The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in a homicide that occurred yesterday on Warwick Road and is asking for the public's help as they investigate.
At approximately 6:18 p.m. yesterday evening, police responded to the 5200 block of Warwick Road for a report of a person down. When officers arrived, they found Katherine A. Wigglesworth, 47, of the 9100 block of Military Road, Amelia Court House, with apparent injuries. At 6:23 p.m., she was pronounced dead on scene by responding emergency medical personnel.
A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
The victim was located in a parking lot behind a church that is visible by surrounding businesses and roadways. Richmond Police are hoping that someone in the area may have seen or heard something that may be helpful to the investigation and lead to the arrest of a suspect.
