The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the VCU Police Department and the United States Marshals Service, has made an arrest in connection to last week’s shooting on West Broad Street.
Theron T. Mosley, 32, of the 2900 block of
Woodcliff Avenue,
was apprehended without incident by U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force
on Thursday, July 25. He has been charged with Attempted Murder
and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. His booking
photo is attached.
At approximately 12:28 p.m. on Monday, July 22, officers responded to the
parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of West Broad Street for the report
of a person shot. When police arrived, they found an adult male with a gunshot
wound. He was taken to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury,
which was later downgraded to a non-life threatening injury. The victim
has since been released from the hospital.
RPD detectives have determined this started as a
road rage incident on West Broad Street. Mosley followed the victim a few
blocks to the business. A confrontation then ensued in the parking lot,
which ended in gunfire.
“We appreciate the help we received from our
partners in the VCU Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service,” said Major
Crimes Lt. Richard Edwards. “Together we were able to bring this case
to a swift and safe conclusion.”
