Community Walk in the Fawnbrook Neighborhood

WHAT:                       Richmond Police Department Community Walk

WHEN:                      5:30 p.m. Today, July 9, 2019

WHERE:                    Nestle Avenue and Susten Lane

BACKGROUND:     Chief William Smith, Second Precinct Sector 212 Lt. Kimberly Mooney and other Richmond Police Department officers will participate in a walk through in Richmond’s Fawnbrook neighborhood at 5:30 p.m. today. During the walk, RPD officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they may have and what they would like to see from the Richmond Police Department.

Sector 212 Lt. Kimberly Mooney said major crime has decreased by 18% in the neighborhood with the help of community members

“We are so appreciative of the neighbors who live in this area,” said Lt. Mooney “They are consistently attending community meetings and are very involved in the city. We want to use this walk to meet more of the residents and thank them for their support.”

This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.
