Victim Identified in Rosetta Street Homicide
Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the shooting that occurred on Rosetta Street yesterday morning as Ricky Dewitt, 46, of Richmond.
At approximately 5:29 a.m., a First Precinct officer on patrol heard gunshots and drove towards Rosetta Street to investigate. A member of the public flagged down the officer and advised that two persons had been shot. In the 2300 block of Rosetta Street, the officer located Dewitt and another adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They were both transported to a local hospital. Dewitt succumbed to his injury. The other male had an injury that was not considered life threatening.
The investigation continues.
