Pedestrian Identified in Chamberlayne Avenue Fatal Collision

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team has identified the pedestrian involved in the fatal collision on Chamberlayne Avenue last week as Anthony Green, 37, of Richmond.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, officers were called to a collision in the 2300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. A vehicle being operated southbound left the roadway onto the sidewalk, struck a pedestrian, Green, and collided with a structure. The vehicle continued along the sidewalk where it struck an unoccupied car before coming to a stop.

Green was pronounced dead at the scene. The adult male driver and an adult female passenger in the striking vehicle were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

The RPD Crash Team is still investigating the circumstances of the collision. No charges have yet been filed. The investigation continues.
