After vigorous investigation, the Richmond Police Department has identified a person of interest in
the attempted abduction investigation of a girl Tuesday and detectives are no
longer looking for anyone else in this case.
At approximately 1:40
p.m. Tuesday, a 10-year-old girl walking in the 1100 block of Apperson
Street to the Powhatan Community pool reported that a man in a vehicle
attempted to persuade her to enter his vehicle.
Thanks to tremendous community support and information, detectives
were able to identify this person within 24 hours. Detectives are currently consulting
with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to determine possible charges.
