East Broad Street Homicide Investigation

Richmond Police detectives are in the early stages of an investigation involving robbery and homicide.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, police were called to Victoria Jewelers at 306 E. Broad St. for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and found a male employee, in his late 20’s, inside the store dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Detectives believe the man was killed during a robbery of the store.
