Victim Identified, Arrest Made in East Main Street Apartment Homicide
The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim and made an arrest in this morning’s homicide.
Detectives identified the victim as Phillip O. Nikolenko, 26, of the 3800 block of Pumpkin Seed Lane, Henrico.
Officers arrested Quinn E. Hazelwood, 27, of the 1000 block of East Main Street at the scene of the shootings. He was charged with voluntary manslaughter. His photo is attached.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., police received several calls of gunfire at the American Heritage Apartments, located at 1001 E. Main St.
Officers arrived and found two males in an upper floor hallway suffering from gunshot wounds. Nikolenko died at the scene. The other victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with injuries that are considered life threatening.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
