Arrests Made in Raven Street Homicide

Three Richmond men have been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred last month in the 1900 block of Raven Street.

Kendell L. Coward, 34, of the 1900 block of Raven Street, and James M. Williams, 36, of the 1900 block of Raven Street, were arrested on April 20 by Major Crimes Detectives. Both men are charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Keon L. McDonald, 31, of the 600 block of Westover Woods Circle, was arrested on April 21 by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

At approximately 5:49 p.m. on March 24, Richmond Police officers were called to the 1900 block of Raven Street in reference to a shooting. They quickly located an adult male lying on the ground outside one of the residences. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

Eric A. Banks, 35, of the 5100 block of Croft Crossing Drive, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m. that evening.
