Arrest Made in Midlothian Inn Homicide

August 25, 2016

A Chesterfield County man is facing two felony charges in connection to a June homicide that occurred at a motel on the city’s south side.

Brian L. Marshall, 23, of the 5500 block of Hansdale Road in Chesterfield County, was arrested yesterday and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His booking photo is attached.

“Regardless of whether a case is days, months or years old, Richmond Police detectives tirelessly pursue every lead and work diligently to uncover new information until those responsible are brought to justice,” said Captain James Laino with the Major Crimes Division. “Someone who has committed a crime may think their trail has gone cold, but eventually the right tip or piece of evidence will lead to their arrest.”

At approximately 9:42 p.m. on June 3, officers were called to the Midlothian Inn, located at 6523 Midlothian Turnpike, for a report of random gunfire. They quickly located a room where a woman – Paige E. Johnson, 25, of the 6500 block of Midlothian Turnpike – had been shot. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
