The Richmond Police Department
has identified the victim in a homicide yesterday morning in the Gilpin
neighborhood as Winfred W. Steward,
25, of the 3700 block of Delmont Street.
Shortly before 10:50 a.m. on Friday, March 2, police received several calls for a person shot in the 1100 block of St. Paul Street. Officers arrived within a minute and quickly located the victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
Police are still investigating this incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available
