The
Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team is investigating a fatal hit and run
collision that occurred yesterday morning in the 4800 block of Midlothian
Turnpike.
At
approximately 5:48 a.m., a motorist was operating a vehicle westbound on
Midlothian Turnpike when the vehicle struck a female pedestrian, a 17-year-old
juvenile, who was in the roadway. The vehicle continued westbound on Midlothian
Turnpike.
The
pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her
injuries. The name of the juvenile has not been released by investigators, per
Virginia code.
Thanks
to information received from the community the vehicle was located yesterday.
The investigation continues.
