Richmond
Police Department detectives last month secured indictments against an
individual believed to have been responsible for multiple incidents of sexual
crimes last year.
Justin A.
Harvey, 26, of the 400 block of Cloverhill Avenue, Colonial Heights, has
been charged with sexual battery, statutory burglary x2, rape, aggravated
sexual battery, malicious wounding, simple assault and unlawful videoing x2.
His photo is attached.
On September
27, 2018, during a joint investigation between RPD and VCU Police Department,
Harvey was arrested after being suspected of lifting up the skirts of two
females. He was charged with sexual battery.
Detectives
have also identified Harvey as the suspect in other sexual assault
investigations:
- · In March of 2018, a female reported a male briefly attacked her in the 1800 block of Grove Avenue before she was able to safely enter her apartment. Harvey has been charged with sexual battery in this incident.
- · On May 5, 2018, a male broke into an apartment in the 1000 block of Park Avenue and sexually assaulted a female.
- · The following evening, a male broke into an apartment in the 2000 block of Grove Avenue and assaulted a female. Harvey has been charged with statutory burglary x2, rape, aggravated sexual battery, malicious wounding, simple assault and two counts of unlawful videoing for those incidents.
