The Richmond Police
Department has identified the victim of Saturday evening’s homicide in the
city’s south side as Corey M. West Jr., 19, of the 1600 block Bickerstaff
Place, Henrico.
At approximately
5:48 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, police responded to the 3400 block of Maury
Street for the report of random gunfire. When officers arrived, they
located Corey West Jr. inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent
gunshot wound.
West Jr. was transported to a local hospital with
life threatening injuries. He succumbed to injuries the next morning.
The Medical
Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
