Arrest Made in Mechanicsville Turnpike Shooting

Detectives with the Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, have made an arrest in relation to a shooting that occurred this month on Mechanicsville Turnpike.

At approximately 7:16 p.m., on Thursday, February 13, officers were called to a convenience store in the 1600 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found an adult male in the store who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound from a shooting that had occurred just outside the store. He was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was considered life threatening.

Detectives arrested Deangelo Hunt, 38, of the 3800 block of Howard Road and charged him with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His booking photo is attached.
