Arrest Made, Victim Identified in Hickory Street Homicide
Following a grand jury indictment yesterday, the suspect in a homicide that occurred last week on Hickory Street, Breonna Green, 29, of Richmond, has been charged with murder. The victim has been identified as her 9-month-old daughter.
On Monday, October 2 at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1200 block of Hickory Street for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and located an unresponsive child in the bedroom of the residence. The child had obvious signs of trauma and was transported to a local hospital where later that morning she succumbed to her injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Following investigation by the RPD Major Crimes unit, detectives presented information to the grand jury which indicted Green. Green’s booking photo is attached.
