Columbia Street Death Investigation
At approximately 6:31 a.m., officers were called to the 1500 block of Columbia Street for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male down and unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a pick-up truck. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives are investigating. The driver had apparently been operating the truck southbound on Columbia Street. The truck left the roadway in the 1500 block and struck a tree. Detectives are asking anyone who may have observed suspicious activity on Columbia Street, near Richmond Highway in the Bellemeade neighborhood, to contact detectives.
