Arrest Made in East 33rd Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have arrested a Richmond man in connection with a homicide that occurred last November in the city.

Raheem J. Davis, 20, of the 100 block of East Broad Rock Road, was arrested earlier this week in Hillside Court by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Malicious Wounding.

Around 9:45 p.m. on November 30, 2016, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of East 33rd Street. Upon arrival, officers noticed a vehicle pulled onto the curb. Inside the vehicle, they located Javar Mayo, 24, of the 00 block of Lombardy Street, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Mayo was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to those injuries that night.
 A second victim was located nearby on East 33rd Street suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
