Arrest Made in Fairfax Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest in connection to a homicide on Fairfax Avenue that occurred in July.

Lemar J. McDaniel Jr., 21, of the 2100 block of Fairfax Avenue
has been charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and concealment of a dead body. McDaniel Jr. is currently in jail on unrelated charges. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., on Tuesday, July 31, officers were called to the 2100 block of Fairfax Avenue for a welfare check. The caller told police he had not heard from his daughter, Devin Harrison in 24 hours. Police conducted a search in the 2100 block of Fairfax Avenue and located Devin S. Harrison, 22, of the 2100 block of Fairfax Avenue behind a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene.
