Arrest Made for Riot Damage

With the help of valuable information received from the community, the Richmond Police Department has arrested an individual and charged him with several crimes committed during a night of rioting last month in the city.

Lucas Couturier has been charged with two crimes that occurred during the riot of July, 25th:

  •        Misdemeanor Arson
  •     Felony Conspiracy to Commit a Riot

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department has also charged Couturier with several crimes committed on the VCU campus that same night.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., yesterday, August 12th, detectives with the RPD’s Civil Unrest Taskforce and officers with 1st Precinct’s Focus Mission Team served a search warrant at an apartment in the 600 block of Hull Street. Couturier was located inside the residence and taken into custody at that time.
