Third Arrest Made for Shots Fired at RPD Officers

A third individual has been arrested after shots were fired at Richmond Police officers late last week.

Anthony J. Slayton has been charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., Friday, August 21, RPD officers were in the area of Mosby Court when they heard random gunfire and notified the Department of Emergency Communications. During this time, shots were fired multiple times at detectives in an unmarked vehicle at the intersection of Coalter and Littlepage Streets. One detective suffered a minor injury by broken glass and was treated a local hospital and released.

After the incident, several vehicles were stopped and individuals were detained.  Jerad Wyche and Niggi Harris were arrested. Both are charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
