Richmond Police detectives are in the early stages of a
homicide investigation in the East End and have identified the victim as Jay Q. Wood, 47, of the 3100 block of
Zion Street.
At approximately 5:26
p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the 800 block of North 21st
Street for a report of random gunfire. They arrived on scene within minutes and
found Wood suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Detectives are following up on several strong leads, but
still ask anyone with any information about this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens
