BACKGROUND: The Richmond Police Department is proud to recognize two regional K-9 teams who will be graduating after an intense 14-week K-9 patrol training course.

The training included obedience, tracking, building searches, aggression control and detection work as well as bonding with each other.

K-9 Officer Wes Moore will graduate with his new partner, K-9 Diesel, a 3-year-old Czech Shepherd from the Czech Republic.

Hanover County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Hallock will graduate with his new partner, K-9 Loki, a 3-year-old Czech Shepard from the Czech Republic.

“These officers and K-9s have worked hard together these past 14 weeks to become a strong training team designed to find suspects and evidence in ways our regular patrol officers cannot,” Major Crimes Major Steve Drew said.

“I’m so proud of their dedication and commitment.”

Next month, Richmond Police Sgt. Michael Bohannon will graduate from the same training with new K-9 Astro.
