Arrest Made in Hanover Avenue Assaults
 
Richmond Police detectives have arrested a man for the assaults and robbery Monday night on Hanover Avenue.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. yesterday, detectives from Third Precinct’s Focus Mission Team, with the assistance of Chesterfield Police, arrested the suspect without incident in Chesterfield County.

Allen A. Kelly, 46, of the 5800 block of Westover Village Drive, has been charged with robbery and malicious wounding. His photo is attached.

At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the 3100 block of Hanover Avenue for a report of an assault. A man and a woman were walking on Hanover Avenue when they were assaulted with a blunt object and robbed.


“This is a great example of good police work and follow-up,” said Area 2 Major Michael Shamus. “We’d like to thank our media partners and the public for their help in identifying the suspect. We also would like to recognize the excellent coordination with local law enforcement agencies which allowed us to quickly arrest the suspect in this violent robbery.”
