Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify a man who used a hammer-like object to assault and rob two people Monday night.
The suspect and the suspect vehicle can be seen in the attached surveillance images.
At approximately 10:50 p.m. Monday, an unknown male approached a man and woman who were walking in the 3100 block of Hanover Avenue and assaulted both victims. He then took the woman’s purse and fled east on Hanover Avenue on foot.
The woman was transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. The injuries were serious but not considered life threatening.
The suspect was wearing a white tee shirt and a white ball cap. Detectives believe he left the area in a dark-colored four-door Chevy that they believe is a newer model.
Detectives ask anyone with any information about this man’s identity to call Richmond Police Detective Jack Larry at (804) 646-1647 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
