Richmond
Police detectives have a charged a man with attempted capital murder of a
police officer and attempted murder in connection with yesterday’s incident on
Midlothian Turnpike.
At
approximately 3:45 p.m. Sunday,
officers were called to the Cloverleaf Inn Motel at 5456 Midlothian Turnpike for a report of a domestic incident. A
female reported her boyfriend had shot at her.
As
officers pulled up, the male then shot at one of the officers from inside the
motel room. That’s when officers backed up and called for additional resources.
Midlothian
Turnpike was shut down in both directions between German School and Covington
roads for approximately three hours while they negotiated with the armed male
inside a motel room.
He
surrendered to officers at approximately 6:45
p.m.
He
has been identified as Paris A.
Loving-Johnson, 22, of the 4400 block of Pano Court in Chesterfield.
Loving-Johnson has been charged with attempted capital murder of a police
officer, attempted murder in the first degree as well as served with warrants
for two counts of domestic assault and battery, failure to pay child support
and felony destruction of property.
