BACKGROUND:     Chief Alfred Durham
and Richmond Police Department officers will participate in a walk through Richmond’s John Marshall neighborhood at 5:30 p.m. today. During the walk, RPD officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they may have and hear how the Richmond Police Department can better serve their community.

Sector 412 Lt. KeShawn Manns
has noted increased random gunfire calls in the John Marshall neighborhood. He will discuss the crime trends with residents and will also share information about two open homicide cases.

“Detectives are still investigating two homicide cases, Jerode Greene on January 26 and Jacquesha Clanton on June 15,” Lt. KeShawn Manns said. “We will take the opportunity during this community walk to urge anyone with information about these shootings to contact Major Crimes detectives. That’s how we make Richmond a safer city – by working together.”

This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
