The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of last night’s shooting as Karen A. Turner, 33, of the 10400 block of Colony Village Way, North Chesterfield.
Last
night at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of
Green Cove Drive for the report of a female shot in the leg. Officers responded
and located a female with a gunshot wound to the leg, but also found Turner in
a nearby vehicle. Turner was unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound and
was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local
hospital with an injury that was not considered life threatening.
The
Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
Detectives
are in the early stages of this death investigation. While all parties in this
incident have been identified, no charges have yet been filed.
