Arrest Made in Charity Street Shooting

Richmond Police detectives with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force have arrested a suspect in connection to the shooting which occurred last week in Gilpin Court.

Yesterday, Rod’Que L. Hoggard-Johnson, 24, of the 200 block of West Charity Street, turned himself in to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 5, officers responded to the 900 block of Chamberlayne Parkway for the report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located a victim inside a building suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated. Police determined the incident occurred in the 200 block of West Charity Street.
