Arrest Made in Forest Hill Bank Robbery

The Richmond Police Department has arrested Robert A. Wallace, 44, of the 40 block of Pilkington Street, who is suspected of robbery which occurred last week in the Forest Hill neighborhood.

At around 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, police were called for a commercial robbery which occurred at the Wells Fargo at 7119 Forest Hill Avenue. The suspect entered the bank and after pacing around the lobby for a few minutes, approached a teller with a note demanding money. The teller complied and handed the suspect a plastic bag with cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Wallace was taken into custody Thursday, Oct. 5 without incident.

“His apprehension was a joint effort between Third Precinct detectives, Focus Mission Team officers, and members of the community who provided information through Crimes Stoppers and social media,“ said Sgt. Charles Hayes.
