Arrest Made in Minefee Street Shooting

Richmond Police, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting which occurred this past December in the city’s Bellemeade neighborhood.

Last week, the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Mya Boyd, 39, of the 1400 block of Minefee Street in Weldon, NC. She was extradited back to Richmond and has been charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and aggravated malicious wounding. Her booking photo is attached.

At approximately 12:43 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, police responded to the 1500 block of Minefee Street for the report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated.
