K9s and Handlers Complete Basic School Graduation

WHAT:                     Richmond K-9 Basic School Graduation

WHEN:                    10 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2018

WHERE:                  K-9 Training Facility, 814 Forest Lawn Drive

BACKGROUND:     Chief Alfred Durham and the Richmond Police Department are proud to welcome three new K9s and their handlers to the ranks.

                                The K9s and their handlers went through 14 weeks of rigorous training. The teams create a strong bond and perform important tasks for the Richmond Police Department.

                                Zeus, Havoc, and Draco, who is from Louisa County will be graduating from basic patrol school. Weather permitting, there will be brief demonstrations from each of the K9 teams and their areas of training as well as presentation of certificates.

                               Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
