Suspect and Vehicle of Interest Sought in Redd Street Homicide

The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect and vehicle of interest in connection to a homicide that occurred last week.

At approximately 7:46 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, officers responded to the 1900 block of Redd Street for the report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located Marquis Bushnell, a male in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Bushnell died from his injuries shortly after.

“Marquis Bushnell was a father who had just moved to the area,” said Major Crimes Detective A. Darnell. “He was shot and killed while carrying groceries in for his family. We know someone out there has information that can help us bring justice for his family.”

The vehicle of interest is described as a black or dark colored newer model Dodge Journey SUV. The vehicle has dark wheels, no front license plate, and silver accents.
