At approximately 7:04 p.m., an adult male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was being driven in a personal vehicle to a local hospital when the driver flagged down a Richmond Fire Department vehicle and requested assistance. After initial treatment, the victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
Richmond Police detectives have determined the shooting took place in the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue and are conducting a death investigation.
