Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in Monday morning’s homicide as Briana Whittaker-Oliver, 27, of Richmond.
Early Monday morning at approximately 5:27 a.m., Richmond Police responded to the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of random gunfire. Officers arrived and located an adult female, Whittaker-Oliver, down on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
