Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in Monday’s shooting in Hillside Court as Jay’Quan Royster, 19, of Richmond.
On Monday at approximately 7:04 p.m., Royster, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, was being driven in a personal vehicle to a local hospital when the driver flagged down a Richmond Fire Department vehicle and requested assistance. After initial treatment, Royster was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
Richmond Police detectives have determined the shooting took place in the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue. The homicide investigation continues.
