Victims Identified in Fatal Collision at Bells Road and Castlewood Intersection

The Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team has identified the victims in Thursday’s fatal collision at the intersection of Bells Road and Castlewood as Jeremiah Ruffin, 18 who remains hospitalized in serious condition and Tracey Williams, 19, who later died at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation has determined that both the male driver and the female passenger within the Buick were not wearing seat belts and both individuals were ejected from the vehicle at the time of the collision.

At 10:42 p.m., Thursday, April 7, Richmond Police Officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 1500 block of Clarkson Road when a collision occurred involving a RPD unit and a Buick sedan.

An adult female from the Buick was ejected and an adult male suffered life threatening injuries from the crash. Both were transported to a local hospital, the male is in critical condition and the female was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The two RPD officers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
