“Stick Up” Suspect Sought

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the attached photo who is a suspect in a commercial larceny that occurred Sunday.

Around 9:30 p.m., the male suspect entered the laundry business at 1221 Jefferson Davis Highway through a side door. The business was closed at the time. He used a long stick to push up security cameras to point them toward the ceiling. He then stole cash and coins from the business. It is believed the suspect fled from the store on foot northbound along Jefferson Davis Highway.

The suspect, who is a black male, wore a black baseball cap, black jacket, a black bandana across his face and baggy blue jeans.

Malik I. Jefferson, 18, of Richmond, is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. A recent photo is attached.

Man Sought in Snead Road Homicide


September 29, 2016
Richmond Police Department detectives need the public’s assistance to locate a male who is suspected of being involved in a homicide that occurred last month.

Detectives are attempting to locate Darnell D. Lee, Jr., 30, of Richmond. His photo is attached. 

At approximately 4:12 p.m., officers were called to the 5000 block of Snead Road for a report of shots fired and a person down. They arrived to find Brian M. King, 24, of the 4000 block of Mallard Creek Circle in Chesterfield County, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a courtyard at the apartment complex. 

 The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Lee is described as a 6’2” tall, black male with a medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, who weighs approximately 165 pounds.

Lee is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him should call police immediately.

Man Wanted in Southwood Parkway Shooting

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate the man in the attached photo, who is wanted in connection with a shooting that took place earlier this month in the Southwood neighborhood.

Hugo J. Palma Iraheta, 22, of Richmond, is wanted on charges of attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on September 18, officers responded to the 4600 block of Southwood Parkway for a report of a person shot. They arrived to find an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound lying on a sidewalk. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Palma Iraheta is described as a 22-year-old, white male, 5’6” tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a 2001 Honda minivan.

He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him should call police immediately.

Missing Woman Sought

The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing woman, Keeshae E. Jacobs.


Jacobs was last heard from on Monday, September 26 when she told a family member she would see them the next day. She did not return to her residence in the Westover neighborhood.

She is described as a black female, age 21, 5’3” tall, weighing approximately 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black basketball shorts, pink and black Nike basketball shoes and a pink scarf. She has tattoos on her right foot, right leg and right hand of a leaf, paws and a flower, respectively.

Arrest Made in Southlawn Avenue Shooting

Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took place last month in Hillside Court.

A 16-year-old Richmond male was arrested today and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. No additional information or booking photo will be released due to the fact that he is a juvenile.

“This shooting happened in broad daylight in a busy neighborhood,” said Major Crimes Detective Greg Russell. “Thanks to significant help from the community we were able to identify and apprehend this individual. We are continuing to gather information in this case and hope anyone with additional information about what happened that day will contact us.”

Around 2:20 p.m. on August 5, officers responded to the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue for a report of a person shot. Officers quickly located the adult male victim, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, on a nearby porch. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Man Wanted in North Avenue Sexual Assault

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate the man in the attached photo, who is wanted in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Saturday in the Ginter Park neighborhood.

Terrence T. Marty AKA “Tee Tee”, 23, of Richmond, is wanted on charges of abduction and sexual battery. A recent photo is attached. 

Shortly before 11 a.m. on September 24, officers were called to the 4000 block of North Avenue in reference to an assault. The victim reported that she was walking back to her residence when she was pulled off the street by an unknown man, who then touched her inappropriately. The victim screamed, and the suspect fled.

Marty is described as a black male with a medium complexion, 5’9”, weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has tattoos on his neck, chest, and both arms.

Suspect Sought in Larceny in Museum District

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the photo, who is a suspect in a commercial larceny that occurred Saturday.

Around 7:50 p.m., the male suspect entered the business and started a conversation with the clerk. When the employee turned away to look at the price of an item, the man reached across the counter, opened the register and stole cash. He then fled from the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, age 30-35, 5’10”-5’11” tall, weighing 150-180 pounds.  At the time of the incident, he wore a light blue T-shirt, plaid pants and a black Chicago Bulls hat.

Victim Identified in Midlothian Turnpike Homicide


September 24, 2016
Richmond Police Department detectives have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred last night on the city's south side.

At approximately 5:55 p.m., police were called to the intersection of East 32nd Street and Midlothian Turnpike for a report of a person shot. When police arrived, they found an adult male in a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. It is believed the shooting occurred in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike.


The victim, Jarod Buford, 22, of Richmond Street, Petersburg, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. Police are still investigating.

St. Paul Street Homicide Victim Identified


September 24, 2016
Richmond Police Department detectives have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred last night in Gilpin Court.

Shortly after 1 a.m. this morning, a 4th Precinct officer heard gunfire in the 1000 block of St. Paul Street. He then found the victim on the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim, Anthony D. Mack, 41, of the 3200 block of Enslow Avenue, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. Police are still investigating.
“We urge residents who may have seen or heard something suspicious to come forward with any information they may have,” said Major Crimes Lt. Donald Davenport. “If you see something, say something. Information from the community will lead us to the individual who committed this crime.”

Man Arrested in Cloverleaf Inn Shooting

A Richmond man was arrested yesterday in connection with a July shooting that injured three people at the motel on Midlothian Turnpike.

Erik T. Bell, 28, of the 1600 block of Otterdale Road, is charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His booking photo is attached.

Around 3 a.m. on July 30, officers responded to the Cloverleaf Inn located at 5456 Midlothian Turnpike for a report of three people shot inside one of the rooms. They arrived to find two men and one woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. All three victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Two Men Sought in Rash of Commercial Burglaries

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify two men who are persons of interest in nearly two dozen commercial burglaries across the Metro Richmond area.  

Detectives believe these two men may have been involved in multiple incidents since July 11 in which convenience stores and gas stations have been the primary target. The most recent incident took place last Saturday at a southside convenience store.

At approximately 2:34 a.m. on September 17, surveillance cameras at the Sunoco located at 3401 Jefferson Davis Highway caught a man lowering himself through the ceiling of the building. He gained access to the building from the rooftop air conditioning unit. He stole cash and climbed back out through the ceiling.

The first person of interest, who was seen on surveillance at the Sunoco, is described as a black male, age 30-40, with short hair. At the time of the Sunoco incident, he wore cargo shorts, a dark jacket, a scarf and white, black and yellow high top.


The second person of interest is a black male who was wearing all dark clothing and a white T-shirt over his head during a recent incident.

Suspect Sought in Theft from Vehicle in Pony Pasture

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect, in the attached photo, involved in a theft from a motor vehicle in Pony Pasture and credit card fraud in a surrounding jurisdiction.

At approximately 10:31 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, police were called to the 7300 block of Riverside Drive for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim believes the incident occurred between 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 while visiting Pony Pasture.


The suspect took several credit cards from the victim’s purse located inside of her vehicle. Shortly after, the suspect made $12,000 of fraudulent charges at the Target located at 11301 Midlothian Turnpike, North Chesterfield.


“We strongly urge residents to always lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of plain sight.” said Detective Eric Sandlin. “Don’t make yourself an easy target for criminals. This was a preventable crime which unfortunately led to another significant financial crime.”


The suspect is described as a white male with a dark beard. Upon exiting Target, he was wearing a white hat, a white shirt, a dark colored pullover top, blue jean shorts, white socks and dark shoes.

Man Arrested in Multiple Bank Robberies

A Richmond man arrested last Friday is now facing multiple charges in connection to four bank robberies in the city and Henrico County.

Carroll B. Gammon Jr, 40, who is known to be homeless, was arrested on September 16, following a bank robbery on West Cary Street. He is charged with two counts of robbery related to two incidents in the city. Henrico County Police have also charged him in two recent robberies. His booking photo is attached.

On September 16, a man, later identified as Gammon, entered the Union Bank & Trust located at 3556 W. Cary Street and demanded money from the tellers. The suspect was seen getting into a vehicle that was stopped by police a short time later. He was taken into custody without incident.

Three days earlier, around 12:45 p.m. on September 13, a man entered the Wells Fargo bank located at 801 E. Main Street and demanded money from the tellers. He claimed to be armed; however, no firearm was displayed. The suspect stole cash and fled on foot.

Suspect Sought in LensCrafters Larceny

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the photos who stole eyeglass frames from a LensCrafters store.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, the suspect entered the LensCrafters store at 9200 Stony Point Parkway and stole several eyeglass frames. The suspect stole the items when the store employees were distracted by other customers.

The suspect is described as a bald, black male who stands 5’6”-5’10” tall and weighs 200-230 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white polo shirt, blue jean shorts and white sneakers.

Arrests Made in Jahnke Road Shooting


September 21, 2016

The Richmond Police Department has arrested two Henrico males and a Sandston male in connection with the shooting that occurred yesterday on Jahnke Road.

At approximately 4:16 p.m., officers were called to the 6300 block of Jahnke Road for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a male who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Witnesses provided information about three suspects and the suspect vehicle that had fled the scene. Officers broadcast the description of the vehicle and an officer from the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority observed the vehicle travelling northbound across the Powhite Bridge.

The RMTA officer and Department officers located the vehicle and stopped it on I-195 just north of Broad Street.

Officers arrested the three males in the vehicle without incident and seized several firearms.

Arrested were:
·         Fletcher Robinson Jr., 26, of the 2600 block of Hilliard Road;
·         Waverly M. Robinson, 20, of the 2600 block of Hilliard Road, and;
·         Satwon L. McKnight, 19, of the 5200 block of Lewis Road.

All three were charged with attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Other charges are being considered. Their photos are attached.

Victim Identified in Castlewood Road Homicide


September 24, 2016
Richmond Police Department detectives have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred last night on the city's south side.
At approximately 8:53 p.m., an off-duty officer heard yelling from the exterior of the Grab-n-Go Convenience Store at the 3800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. As he exited the store to investigate, he found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, James “Jimmy” T. Bishop, 54, of Goolsby Avenue, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives are asking the help of any citizen who was in the area of Castlewood Avenue and Bells Road between 8:30 and 8:50 p.m. last night who may have witnessed a man on a lawnmower or any suspicious activity.

Suspect, Information Sought in Hit and Run Death Investigation

Richmond Police detectives are asking the public to provide information regarding a fatal hit and run that occurred Friday night.

At approximately 10:48 p.m., officers received a report of a person down in the 1400 block of Lenmore Street. Officers arrived and found an injured male down in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital where Saturday he died.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

The victim, Quan Zheng, 34, of the 1200 block of Providence Knoll Drive in Chesterfield, was reportedly delivering a food order to the 1400 block of Lenmore Street when a person drove off in the victim’s vehicle, injuring the victim in the process.

Arrest Made, Victim Identified in St. Paul Street Homicide

The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the Henrico Police Department, has made an arrest in connection with the shooting death that occurred Friday night. Detectives would like to thank the public for information that was provided to investigators that led to the quick arrest.

Detectives arrested Mark A. Cephas, 27, of no known address, and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Other charges are being considered. His photo is attached.

At approximately 7:23 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to the 1100 block of St. Paul Street for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a male down and unresponsive on a sidewalk. The Richmond Ambulance Authority also arrived and pronounced the victim, identified as James D. Williams, 31, of the 800 block of West Catherine Street, dead at the scene. Detectives believe the incident stemmed from an argument.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

St. Paul Street Homicide

The Richmond Police Department is investigating a shooting death that occurred in the 1100 block of St. Paul Street.

At approximately 7:23 p.m., officers were called to the area for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a male down and unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of St. Paul Street. The Richmond Ambulance Authority also arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

As officers arrived, many people were in the immediate area of the shooting scene. Detectives hope those with information will come forward to provide critical information to assist detectives in this case.

Arrest Made in Southside Break-Ins and Assaults

Thanks to the vigilance of neighbors, a Richmond man suspected of entering homes through unlocked doors then exposing himself or physically assaulting women has been arrested.

“We always urge community members to call the police when they see something suspicious,” said Lt. Jason Hudson with the Major Crimes Division. “The citizen who called about this person reported something that seemed out of the ordinary, and that information led us to arrest a suspect in multiple sexual assaults.”

Yesterday evening, a concerned citizen in the The Crossings at Bramblewood apartment complex called police to report a suspicious individual. Officers detained the man, who was later identified as Saevone S. Brown, 22, of the 500 block of Rossmore Drive.

Further investigation led detectives to link Brown to the series of six incidents that took place between August 29 and September 11 in the St. John’s Woods, Ashley Park and Crossings at Bramblewood neighborhoods. 

Victims in those incidents reported that in the early morning hours on those dates a man was seen either outside or inside their home exposing himself or they were awakened by a man inappropriately touching them.

Brown is charged with sexual battery, trespassing and two counts of breaking and entering. Additional charges are expected. His booking photo is attached.

Suspect Sought in Westower Drive Burglary

September 15, 2016
 Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the photo, who is a suspect in a residential break-in that occurred yesterday morning on the city’s south side.

At approximately 11:38 a.m. on September 14, officers responded to a report of a break-in in the 6100 block of Westower Drive. A surveillance camera at the residence captured two black males who pulled into the driveway in a gray, four-door sedan. They forced entry to the rear door of the home and stole electronics and jewelry.

Detectives have identified one of the two suspects. The second suspect, who is seen in the photo, is described as a black male in his 20s with a medium build. He wore a blue polo shirt, red, white and blue striped shorts and white sneakers at the time of the incident.

Thanks to information from the public, detectives from the Richmond Police Department have identified the suspect in a bank robbery that occurred yesterday. Detectives are now asking the public’s assistance to help locate him.

Detectives believe Carroll B. Gammon Jr., pictured below, was the suspect who robbed the Wells Fargo bank, located at 801 E. Main Street, Tuesday at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Gammon Jr., 40, has a last known address in the 6800 block of West Carnation Street in Richmond.

There were no injuries in the robbery.
