The Richmond Police Department is investigating a
shooting death that occurred in the 1100 block of St. Paul
Street.
At approximately 7:23 p.m., officers were called to the
area for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a male down and
unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of St. Paul Street. The Richmond
Ambulance Authority also arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of
death.
As officers arrived, many people were in the immediate
area of the shooting scene. Detectives hope those with information will come
forward to provide critical information to assist detectives in this
case.
