The Richmond Police Department is investigating a double shooting that occurred in Carter Jones Park.
At approximately
7:23 p.m., officers were called to Carter Jones Park for the report of a
shooting. Officers arrived and found that a juvenile female and a juvenile male
who had each suffered a gunshot wound had been transported in a personal
vehicle to a local hospital with injuries that were considered life
threatening. The female succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The Medical
Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
Major Crimes
detectives are investigating. Detectives believe many people were in the park
at the time of the shooting and ask that they provide information to detectives
about this incident.
