Victim Identified in Fairfield Avenue Homicide

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of last night’s homicide on Fairfield Avenue as
Trequan R. Hardy, 25, of the 00 block of North 4th Street.

At approximately 8:17 p.m., officers were called to the 2100 block of Fairfield Avenue for the report of a person shot. Officers responded and found Hardy down and unresponsive on a sidewalk. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where this morning he succumbed to his injuries.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

“Detectives believe several people were in the area of 21st Street and Fairfield Avenue at the time of this shooting and may have information about this incident,” Major Crimes Captain James Laino said. “We urge witnesses or anyone with information about this shooting to contact us.”
