Victim Identified in Elgin Terrace Homicide / Arrest Made

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the homicide that occurred Saturday as NeNe Kline, 30, of Richmond.

Saturday, at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers were called to the 600 block of Elgin Terrace for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located an adult female, Kline, with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives have determined that this is a domestic related incident. 

With the assistance of the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Laquan Johnson, 30, of Chesterfield, was quickly apprehended in Orange County, Virginia.  Johnson was charged with 1st Degree Murder.  Additional charges are pending.  Booking photo attached.  

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
