Richmond Police detectives have charged the suspect and identified the victim in the homicide that occurred yesterday on Nutmeg Court. Michael Benbow, 27, of Richmond, has been charged with murder. His booking photo is not yet available. Detectives have identified the victim as Ty’keytah Burford, 27, of Richmond.
Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at approximately 7:09 a.m., officers were called to the 5400 block of Nutmeg Court for a report of trouble unknown. Officers arrived found an adult male, Benbow, in an apartment suffering from an apparent stab wound. In the same apartment, officers found an adult female, Burford, down and unresponsive, suffering from an apparent stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Benbow was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
