Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim who on Friday succumbed to his injury from a shooting in September on Afton Avenue as Rakeese Greene, 21, of Richmond.
At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, officers were called to the 2300 block of Afton Avenue for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Greene, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was considered life threatening. He succumbed to his injury at the hospital on Friday, September 30.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
