Following a lengthy investigation, Richmond Police Department detectives have re-classified a death investigation, involving Michelle Manuel, 59, of Richmond, that occurred on Bainbridge Street last April, to a homicide and have charged the suspect.
Detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force, today arrested Carl Williams, 69, of Richmond, after he was recently indicted for murder. He was arrested without incident. His booking photo is attached.
At approximately 8:09 a.m., Friday, April 1, officers were called to the 2100 block of Bainbridge Street for the report of a stabbing. RPD officers located an adult female, Manuel, in a residence suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Detectives have now determined this was a domestic incident and have charged Williams.
