The suspect in the homicide on August 13 on St. Paul Street, in custody since that evening, was recently indicted by a grand jury.
Delmontae Lewis, 19, of Richmond, has been indicted for murder, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission on a felony and shooting into an occupied structure. He was arrested near the scene of the shooting by RPD officers and initially charged with possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon with an extended magazine. At approximately 9:37 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, officers were called to the 900 block of St. Paul Street for a report of a shooting. One adult male, Jessie Crumble-Bullock, 18, of Richmond, and one adult female were located, each having suffered a gunshot wound. Both were transported to a local hospital, where that same night Crumble-Bullock succumbed to his injury. The female’s injury was not considered life threatening.
