Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers in conjunction with the Richmond Police Department is offering an additional $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of a man who assaulted a Richmond Police officer Saturday.
Willie Clayborne Coley Jr., 34, of the 8800 block Midway Road, is wanted for striking an officer in the head and face with a gun. The officer was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
On Saturday, two officers were patrolling in Gilpin court around 9:45 a.m. when they noticed Coley acting suspiciously. As they approached Coley, he ran away. When they attempted to detain him, he assaulted one of the officers.
Coley is known to frequent the Gilpin Court area. Anyone with information about Coley’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
