Richmond Police detectives are investigating a fatal
shooting that occurred early this morning at the Illusions Night Club.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., shots were fired inside the club
located in the 6300 block of Midlothian Turnpike. Several RPD officers, working
off-duty there, entered the club and discovered the body of Jerquell Cheatham,
21, of the 700 block of Everett Street. He had been shot.
Officers identified two others who were injured; a male with a gunshot wound, and a female who had been struck by a car in the club parking lot. Both persons were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
