Arrest Made in Felony Hit and Run

Richmond Police Department Hit and Run investigators have arrested the suspect in the hit and run incident that injured a runner on Saturday.

Samantha F. Jennings, 26, of the 1200 block of Mount Erin Drive, has been charged with reckless driving and felony hit and run. Her booking photo is attached.

On Saturday at approximately 8:43 a.m., officers were called to the 1100 block of West Broad Street for the report of a hit and run. Officers arrived and found an adult female who had been struck by a vehicle while in the crosswalk of West Broad Street. The victim had been crossing southbound at Harrison Street.

Detectives determined Jennings was operating the vehicle which was traveling eastbound on West Broad Street when she disregarded a red light and collided with the victim. Jennings stopped briefly at the scene but then left the location before police arrived.
