The
Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team has identified the male who died as a
result of yesterday’s collision on Chippenham Parkway as Antonio S. Alli,
36, of the 800 block of West Wythe Street, Petersburg.
Yesterday
at approximately 3:40 p.m., Alli was the operator and sole occupant of a
vehicle traveling northbound in the left travel lane of Chippenham Parkway
when, just north of the Huguenot Road interchange, his vehicle crossed the
median and entered the southbound travel lanes where it struck a pick-up truck
in a head-on collision. The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to a
local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening. He was
the sole occupant of the pick-up truck.
Alli
was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators
with the RPD Crash Team responded to the scene where they interviewed
witnesses, collected evidence, and took measurements.
